There are 12 main acupuncture meridians that are in the body and there is a right and left side of each meridian, so there are really 24 all together. The meridians are:

LUNG and LARGE INTESTINE

PERICARDIUM and TRIPLE HEATER

HEART and SMALL INTESTINE

SPLEEN and STOMACH

LIVER and GALLBLADDER

KIDNEY and BLADDER

The meridians are channels of energy flow that travel through the body tissues and organs of the body. If there are any blockages to the normal flow of this energy within the meridian system, it may manifest as a malfunction or disease process in any of the tissues or organs that the channel passes through.

A blockage of normal energy flow within the meridian system will create an excess or a deficiency of energy within the meridian system. A blockage of energy occuring between the left and right channels of a meridian (example: LUNG) will create what is called a SPLIT within that meridian. (example: The left LUNG meridian has excess energy and the right LUNG meridian is deficient in energy) SPLITS are more serious!!!

LUNG

Stiff shoulder, back pain, headache, throat problems, lung distention with sweating, anal disorders, asthma, thyroid irregularities, grief, and guilt.
